To ensure a smooth and effective learning experience at The Home School Project, we utilise the Google platform for all lessons and collaborative activities. Here’s what you need to know about our IT requirements:

Essential Tools and Platforms

• Google Meet: For live sessions, allowing real-time interaction between students and teachers.

• Google Classroom: Our main collaborative space for sharing resources, assignments, and information.

• Google Chat: A networking tool for students to connect during projects, socialise, and for parents to communicate.

 

Technical Specifications

• Device Requirements: Students will need access to a laptop or desktop computer. Unfortunately, phones and tablets are not suitable due to compatibility issues with our platforms.

• Browser: Please ensure that you can download the Google Chrome app on your computer, as this is essential for accessing our lessons and resources effectively.

• Internet Speed: A stable internet connection is crucial. We recommend a minimum speed of 10 Mbps for optimal performance, especially when accessing live lessons alongside other tabs.

 

Audio and Video Requirements

• Camera and Microphone: All students are expected to have a functional camera and microphone (either internal or external) on their computer to participate fully in our workshops. In live sessions, cameras should be on unless prior arrangements have been made with the teacher.

 

Quiet Study Environment

• To minimise background noise during live sessions, we ask that students access their computers from a quiet space. This ensures a conducive learning environment for everyone involved.

 

Additional Software

• If specific projects require any additional software or downloads, these will be communicated in advance, and guidance will be provided by the teacher.
