Upper KS2 Maths Explorers
This 6 week programme covers the 4 operations in context
Course Overview
Build Confidence, Deepen Understanding, and Master Maths Together! This 6-week programme focuses on the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in real-world contexts, helping children apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. Through practical problem-solving and engaging activities, students will see how maths is used in everyday life—whether budgeting for a project, calculating measurements, or working with data. Aligned with Upper KS2 national curriculum objectives, this course reinforces key skills in: ✅ Addition & Subtraction – Multi-step word problems, working with larger numbers, and choosing efficient strategies. ✅ Multiplication & Division – Long multiplication, short and long division, using factors, multiples, and understanding remainders. ✅ Applying the Four Operations – Using all operations to solve practical, real-world problems, from scaling recipes to planning expenses. ✅ Problem-Solving & Reasoning – Developing fluency, tackling multi-step problems, and explaining mathematical thinking. Each session includes: 🔹 Guided instruction and clear explanations to break down tricky concepts 🔹 Interactive, small-group discussions to explore different strategies 🔹 Practical, real-world applications to show how maths is used beyond the classroom 🔹 Collaborative activities and challenges to develop confidence and problem-solving skills 🌟 A basic understanding of written methods of the 4 operations is recommended to fully access this programme.
