Course Overview

Please note, only the deposit of £30 is due at the point of booking. The rest must be paid before the project starts. A 6-week global adventure inspired by the hit BBC show Race Across the World is an exciting, competitive, real-world learning project where children race between countries and continents, managing money, planning routes, collecting points and immersing themselves in global culture — just like on the TV show. Each week, pupils are sent to a new part of the world with one mission: ➡️ Reach the next checkpoint before time (or money) runs out. Instead of following a single set route, children choose between three different travel paths each week, deciding how they’ll move across countries and which places they’ll visit along the way. Every choice matters — from transport and timing to budgeting and culture. During the project, pupils will: 🚆 Choose between real transport options (train, coach, ferry and more) ⏱️ Calculate travel times and routes using real-world data 💷 Manage a budget and track spending across the project 💼 Earn money by taking on local “jobs” linked to the places they travel through 🎨 Collect cultural badges through creative, practical and research-based challenges 🗺️ Explore geography, landmarks and traditions from around the world ✍️ Create written travel logs, presentations and projects inspired by their journey 📊 Make strategic choices — race fast, travel cheaply, earn money or collect badges Each child tracks their progress through their own Travel Log, building a personal record of routes, finances, discoveries and achievements. The project includes a strong competitive element with: 🏆 Points for fastest journeys 💰 Awards for cheapest routes 🎖️ Points for cultural badge challenges ✨ Bonus awards and surprise prizes There is no single way to win — some children may be brilliant planners, others expert money-managers, and others outstanding culture-collectors. Race Across the World weaves together: Maths – budgeting, calculating time and costs English – writing, presentation, communicating ideas Geography – countries, capital cities, landscapes and travel History & Culture – traditions, food, art and ways of life Art & DT – creative responses, models, design tasks Life skills – decision-making, resilience, independence and problem-solving All through one motivating, immersive project.
