Course Overview
Please note, only the deposit of £30 is due at the point of booking. The rest must be paid before the project starts. Step into the role of a young entrepreneur and bring an idea to life. In this six-week project, pupils will design their own product to solve a real-world problem and help a specific group of people. They will follow the full journey of product development, from identifying a need and designing a solution, to refining their idea through research and making decisions about materials, cost and pricing. As the project progresses, pupils will develop their own brand, create a simple website to showcase their product, and plan a marketing campaign, including writing and recording a radio advert. Key learning outcomes: Designing a product with a clear purpose Making decisions about materials, cost and pricing Understanding how products are marketed and sold Creating websites, advertising campaigns and branding materials The project combines elements of design technology, maths, English and computing in a practical and engaging way. The course is aligned with the KS2 curriculum and is designed to be both accessible and appropriately challenging. All sessions are live and interactive, with a balance of guided teaching, independent project time and support throughout. By the end of the project, pupils will present their product in a final pitch, explaining their design, pricing and marketing choices.
